Latest News

We are open for the year – bookings are available direct online on this site, or call me with queries if you can’t find a date you want. We have lots of lovely places to eat nearby, and some new ones opening, so you can come and stuff yourselves against the early spring cold. Dogs are still welcome, though we now have lambs to add to the hens roaming the place, so leads are needed in the garden. If you have any enquiries, just call or text.

For anyone wanting to find out about the beds they heard about on Four in a Bed, please visit the website for Norris Bedding and The Odd Mattress Company for where to get good beds, and Soak and Sleep for their toppers. And the WoolRoom for their wool toppers – they are all brilliant and all help get the perfect bed sorted.

Why stay here?

I hope this is the kind of place you might have stayed as a child, with a slightly batty old aunt pottering in the garden and occasionally putting delicious food on the table. Where you can kick off your shoes and curl up on the sofa with a good book by the fire, or slob in bed before heading out for a walk or trip to the sea. If you are working, and slobbing opportunities are denied you, or you are just stopping off on the way to Devon or Cornwall, at least you can enjoy really comfy beds, and eat cake. So not all is lost.

We’re close to Yeovil, Taunton, Crewkerne and Ilminster, only a short distance from key routes through the South West: the A303 and the M5. Lyme Regis is near to the south, Exmoor to our north, and there are MANY gardens.

Importantly, the views are country, but there are two really good pubs and a cafe only a walk away. And Somerset, the heart of the slow food movement, has many other outstanding places to eat a short drive away, or worth making part of a day trip.
